Today in our Tarot reflection series, I want to talk about the High Priestess. This card is often connected to intuition—trusting yourself, inner wisdom, perception, and self-reliance.
And for me, intuition has always been something I’ve relied on. But what I’ve learned over time is that the High Priestess isn’t about choosing between intuition and logic… it’s about learning how to let them work together in a way that feels right for you.
I still listen to my intuition first—but now I also pause and check in. I look at the situation from a practical perspective, using common sense and sound judgment alongside that inner feeling.
There was a time many years ago when friends and I were on a road trip to the East Coast. We stopped in Boston and had planned to stay at a specific place—but something didn’t feel right. I couldn’t explain it, but I had a strong feeling that we shouldn’t stay there.
Thankfully, I was able to convince my friends to find a different place for the night. The next morning, while watching the news, we heard that part of that building had collapsed. So, in that moment, I was really glad I trusted my intuition.
But I’ve also learned something else. Sometimes it takes practice to understand what you’re feeling. Is it intuition? Is it a reaction from a past experience? Or is it just emotion or anxiety?
And that’s something I see quite often in readings. People tend to lean one way or the other—either fully trusting intuition or relying only on logic and common sense. But the real shift happens when you realize you don’t have to choose. You can learn to work with both.
For me, that often means pausing and asking: Where does this come from? And depending on that answer, that’s how I decide what to do next. The High Priestess isn’t about choosing between intuition and logic—it’s about learning how to let them work together.
