Discipline Chose Me What is Yours

Discipline Chose Me What is Yours

As one year closes and another begins, many of us feel the pull to reset our focus and set fresh intentions. Over the past few years, I’ve found that choosing a guiding word—just one word to carry through the year—can be a surprisingly powerful tool. It’s a gentle compass, quietly shaping decisions and offering clarity when life gets chaotic.

In 2025, my word was "Harmony." And although the world around us often felt anything but harmonious, I was surprised to realize—just recently—how much harmony quietly bloomed in my own life. Relationships felt steadier. Finances, while not perfect, were calmer. And many of my friendships found a more peaceful rhythm. That’s the beauty of this practice: your word may not change the world, but it can change your world from within.

For 2026, I’ve chosen a new word—and I’ll admit, it took me some time to settle on it.

Why Discipline?

At first, I leaned toward "Clarity." It’s a beautiful word, and honestly, I already feel pretty clear about what I want in 2026. That persistent whisper of direction has been with me for months. But the word that kept returning—quietly at first, then with more conviction—was "Discipline."

It’s a word that feels serious. Grounded. No-nonsense. A call to action.

And maybe that’s why I hesitated.

Discipline means getting honest about the daily choices that support our vision. It’s not flashy or fast. It’s built through small, steady efforts—even on the hard days. Especially on the hard days. And truthfully, I’ve already begun leaning into it. Since August, I’ve been taking small steps, making a list of things I can do regularly—even on days when my energy is low due to health issues. That list has been a quiet success—and for 2026, I’m ready to build on it.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up with intention.

A Word that Works With You

If you’ve never chosen a word for your year before, I encourage you to give it a try. It doesn’t have to feel big or dramatic. Just meaningful to you.

Your word might:

  • Invite focus

  • Offer support during tough moments

  • Reflect a quality you want to embody more often

  • Help you return to what matters

Some years, your word will challenge you. Other years, it will quietly hold your hand. But every time, it offers a new lens through which to grow and reflect.

So, here’s to 2026. A year of Discipline—not as punishment or pressure, but as a steady commitment to the life I want to create.

I’d love to know—what word is calling to you for 2026? Just hit reply and share it with me. I read every message.

Warm regards,

Jasmin
